Anyone have a feel for whether this is worth a two-hour drive? I've never been to a bead show and thought this might be fun. Hubby promised me what he likes to call my "Special Angela Time" tomorrow so I thought I might road-trip! :-)

In my neck of the woods, 2 hours isn't a outrageous amount of time on the road. And if you've never been to a bead show, any bead show is going to be great. And it will give you something to compare others to. By all means go!

Mavis Smith is going to be there and she has AWESOME figural lampworked beads. She's a really great person as well. Also, Jane's Fiber and Beads have lovely seed beads at great prices - $2.00 and up for size 6. Patti

This is (at the moment) my very favorite bead show -- very high quality merchandise, very friendly vendors, lots of inspiration. It's not as big as some of the great big shows, but I've been twice now and enjoyed lots.

Oooh, replying to myself. I'm gonna go down in a short while and catch the tail end of this show. Never done a bead show before but I'm sure it will be fun :)

I didn't have much time-- or money-- which was probably a good thing. Lots of beautiful beads, some lovely lampwork, but not enough time to really study everything.

Since I got there with only about an hour and a half before the end of the show I had to run through the room quickly, figure out who had the things I wanted most (findings and stone), compare prices and then make purchases. I bought a little bit of silver and some strands of jasper and cherry quartz beads.

There was so much more there and I just didn't have the time to take it all in. Wish I'd had more time, but it was fun. Next time I'll know to make it a more leisurely day!

Isn't she though? I can't wait for Bead Fest in October, she'll be here again. It's at the Ft.Washington Convention Center, near Philadelphia. Start saving now!!! Also coming are Tom Boylan, John Winter, Schermo, Kristen Franzen Orr, Diane's Beadscapes, and Hye on Beads, who will have my dichroic pendants for sale in her booth along with tools, charms, beads, videos, books, etc. Seriously, it's a great show, 3 days this year. Lots of great classes as well. Patti

It's going to be a busy time, last half of November around Oakland. Nov 15 BABE , 16 Vicki birthday, 20 Pete's birthday, 21 my birthday, 26 Mom's birthday, 27 Sooz birthday and Thanksgiving. On the 29th we're all meeting at my sister's to celibrate Mom's 80th birthday (first travel since her car accident and paralysis). And that's not counting more distant one's: Tink, Jeanne, Jerri.
