AD: Update, show news, and new charms/pendants

Hey ya'll!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm in the midst of adjusting to Aiden going to preschool...I miss him terribly, but at least I get a little time each week now to do things that I can't seem to do any other time. I'm trying my best to be productive while he's at school, but it doesn't always go how I plan...seem to always misplace the one thing I need to get something finished or I'm out of something, etc. etc. Funny how I thought I'd get so much done while I had time to myself, but it never seems to go that way...oh well. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to figure it all out and be more productive. If you'd like to hear more of what the family and I have been up to lately, be sure to check out my blog (see link in siggy). I'll be posting pics of my newly reorganized studio, Aiden's first day of preschool, and other fun things soon, so I hope you'll check in from time to time.

I'm sharing a table with Kalera at the Portland Bead Society Bead Bazaar this year at Montgomery Park here in Portland. If you're going to be in the area on November 4th or 5th, I hope you'll stop by. For more info, please visit the PBS website at

We'll be up on the second floor in the atrium area. We won't know the exact location of our table until the day of the show, so be sure to check the show map you get when you pay your admission...not sure if we're listed under our business names or what, so check for us under both, Paulette Insall & Kalera Stratton or SPIglass Studio & The Beadwife. I think I already mentioned that I have a shop on Etsy now. I just put some fine silver charms/pendants and earrings up there and have a new print of one of my latest digital collages. Hope you will go check them out. I also put some charms up on the "Available Now Jewelry" page of the website, so take a peek there as well.

PAULETTE!!!!!!!!!!

Your PMC prices on Etsy are absolutely INSANE. They are FINE silver, ONE OF A KIND, and should be accorded that respect. You can buy a mass-manufactured sterling silver piece-of-crap charm for more than you're charging.

Oh wow Sooz! I had no idea!!! What I'm charging for the charms is what others I know who are working with PMC charge for theirs that are similar in size and detail. I figured they were charging a fair price for them. I didn't realize that mass produced sterling charms were going for more. Guess I need to do more research...

Thanks for looking out for me girlie! :)

Paulette, my love -- What my PMC teacher told us is that she charges a MINIMUM price of $90 per piece. This was a couple of years ago, and silver prices have gone up since then.

I'm not necessarily saying you must, must, MUST charge a baseline of $90 per item. But fine silver is so expensive, the time involved is like lampwork in that the thing has to go through a lot of handwork and kiln-firing, etc. Plus how does PMC (the raw material) compare in price to glass? And it IS one of a kind. Think about those things, and charge accordingly.

The others who are charg> Oh wow Sooz! I had no idea!!! What I'm charging for the charms is what
