Cane Glass from Fire Mountain?

Is anyone here familiar with this item from Fire Mountain? I don't have a picture, but it sounds like furnace glass, just a lot cheaper. According to FM, it's made in the US, and has a smaller hole than most other cane-type glass beads.

THAT IS FURNACE GLASS

I think you are reading the prices incorrectly - because I just pulled them up and the prices are

Quantity Discount Pricing (by the oz)

1 - 4 15.00 5 - 24 13.30 25 - 99 11.50 100+ 10.35

by the pound prices start at $150 a pound, if you buy 100+ lbs they will sell it to you at $ 103.50

those are fairly standard furnace glass prices.

firedesigns.com - where I have purchased in the past ar $150 a lb.... for similar beads as shown in the Fire Mountain catalog.

I could swear I got an email from Fire Mountain 2-4 weeks ago with an offer for cheap, Chinese OR Indian made cane glass. I didn't order then because I had some reservations about the durability and I can't find the email now, but this stuff looks like the same beads I saw in that offer. I wouldn't believe what their Customer Service department says about this item - it's too cheap to be made in the US.

Oh yeah - 15 minutes after I made my very first import order for some Thai Hilltribe silver, I opened the FMG July-September catalog to find 13 pages of the stuff in there. BUT - most of what I ordered to have in the eBay store isn't in their catalog. Whew!

MJ, I bought some Hill Tribe silver dragonflies and an orchid at the Whole Bead Show in NYC. It's gorgeous. I think you will be pleased. Patti

I rarely order from them anymore - and when I do it's for a particular bead that I used in my angel pins or something I can't get elsewhere. I think I only ordered once from them in the past two years. But I like getting their catalogs just to see what's new - they do keep up with the trends.
