Intro and bead show questions.

Hello all,

This is my first post to the group. I make beads from polymer and precious metal clay and am trying to figure out what the best shows are for selling handmade beads. I am on the west coast and have done BABE in Oakland, the Nor Cal Bead Society show, the Portland Bead Society show and the Seattle Bead Society show. All have been pretty good for me.

I know about Tucson, have aversions (major) to Wholebead shows, and will be at the Bead and Button Show in May.

Anything else worth really travelling for? I'd love to hear from beadmakers.

Thanks

Thanks JoAnn,

That is the other side of my artwork--vessels and sculptural pieces. It's fun to be able to work with a larger canvas.

I am focusing most of my energy on beads right now, and they are going through some amazing transformations. I don't have any new stuff up on the website at the moment, but will post to this group when I do.

Not a bead maker and live in NZ, so I can't help with info. However, I like your work, welcome to the group.

Thanks to all who posted.

Art and Craft shows are so much easier to whittle down--there are many quality guides etc. I wish someone would do one for bead shows.

Thank you for your information and compliments.

I plan on posting some beads on Ebay soon. So if you're interested... I'll post here when I do.

The Puget Sound Bead Festival is a great one - it's gotten bigger in the last few years, so they have moved it to a larger venue. I haven't sold there, but the last two years I went, it was jam-packed full of people shopping. Lots of great beadmakers do that one.

Yeah, I know about that one. Unfortunately, I manage to keep applying too late and it is full. Hopefully I'll be there in 2005. Thanks.

It's full? Oh, bummer!! Well, the NW Bead Society has one here in the fall - you might try that one.
