We are suppose to be looking at a tassle thingy right, and not something else? If we are indeed supposed to be looking at the tassle thingy I think that it is very pretty, and looks pretty simple to make.

I love it! I think I'll make one right now, to go with my leopard-handled Ginghers ;o)

That's it - it's a scissors fob. Nothing real fancy - just a way to use those extra beads we all have lying around the house. :-)

(The rest of that website is the one I maintain for the EGA.)

Ooooooooooooh - I have some cute little glass beads that are brown with black spots. I haven't figured out what to do with them, yet.

Are you teaching this as a beginer project? If so, it's a good one and the end result is attractive and useful.

I think these are great, and i need several of them. I have sooo many pairs of scissors, and rotary cutters, for beading, scrapbooking and quilting. When I go to group activities, a lot of us have the exact same tools, and this would be a wonderful way to identify which ones are mine! Thanks for sharing that. If I lived in your area, and wanted to take a beading class, I sure would take that one.

Yes, just a beginning stringing project. They choose the beads plus there will be some "bead soup" available. I'll teach them how to use a crimper and how to make a simple tassel. Nothing mind-boggling, just a fun, useful project.

There you go - post pictures of yours after you're finished. :-)

I have about 6 pairs of scissors and keep some sort of keeper on all of them. Because they are only about 4" long, they disappear rather easily. I've been trying to think of other uses for them. I thought they could use a large split ring and call it a "key keeper". Or maybe make it longer, add a ring near the tassel, and use it as a curtain tie-back. Anybody else think of a use for them?

I know, it's kind of simple but beads are sooooo pretty and it is fun picking out beads that call out to us. Even inexpensive, mass-produced beads need a loving home.

Zipper pulls? um...decorative tassel for whatever...lol...um....i'll keep thinking

I think that design would work for fan pulls too.

Two excellent ideas! I'll pass them along to my class. :-)

I think this is a perfect class for a craft store. 99% of crafters require a pair of scissors afterall. And what better way to get them all hooked on beads!

and why not use that same thing for a jeans fob (some people are doing it to the belt loops), or for a keychain? You could use the same "basic" splitring, and hook your choice of fob that day on it? Hook it on the zipper pull of your purse or coat...5million things! (heck, ornaments???)

and if you sell them on eBay, market them different ways ... i.e. Scrapbook scissors keeper, embroidery, quilting, etc, etc.

You could use the same basic auction format, just change the pic, and the title, and put them into the category as needed!
