I'm in trouble now.

My first real seed beading after taking a class yesterday!

The first one is a spiral bracelet, and then 2nd one, she calls "confetti". I'm thinking of making it into a lariat, or making a vessel to go with it. I'm hooked. Ok, I'm starting to get the seed beading thing. And like a dummy, when I was at the bead store, I had no clue what beads I wanted, so I just bought some of these purples for class, and the browns were some I had at home. Well, I've figured it out now. I want ALL the size 11s and ALL the size 8s. That's not too much to ask, is it? I started out using 8s because those 11s are so darned small, but now I like them. I like the 2nd piece because it has mostly 11s, but some 8s, too. These weren't quite the mix I wanted, but just the colors I happened to have.

I wish I'd taken some of these vessels with me, to pick out some beads to go with them. With the bead store being an hour away, I don't get over there very often! I've been looking at the Shipwrecked catalog, drooling. MUST have seed beads! Must have seed beads!

Oh No! A new addiction!

I love seed beads. And I really enjoy the spiral. And wait until you start using 15s! You do have a spare room for your seed beads, right?

I would commiserate with you but today I finally picked up my seed beads and needle and learned flat peyote. Once I get my eyesight back I'll take a picture and brag too. :-) Then you and I can go seed bead shopping together. I like your lesson pieces. Diana

Ooooooooooo! I can't wait to see. I don't know if I'll ever be brave enough for peyote. I sure love some of the freeform peyote though! Ok, I love amulet bags too. If I ever decide to make an amulet bag, I'll know I'm really addicted!

Diana,

Have you tried flat peyote with Delicas yet? Absolutely wonderful! They "snap" together so nicely. You'll never enjoy peyote with seed beads as much as you do now tho.

Yeah, hubby laughed and said, "Well, at least seed beads are cheap."

Ha. Ha. NOT when you want ALL of them!

You are indeed in deep doodoo. I hope you are selling lots of goddesses because you have entered a slide with no exit- the abyss of beautiful little beads which actually has no end. Wait til you start learning about delicas, charlottes, miyuki, toho, matsuna, dynamites, and all the variations of shape and size. Good luck and welcome to bead purgatory- there are never enough beads or enough money for beads. Armand

I have heard that they make a wonderfully sensuous piece. Im afraid I will get addicted to delicas but on the other hand I have in mind a bag to emulate one that was in the family, and to do it well I will need beads as perfect as delicas. Enjoy peyote... hmmmm... well... I might like it more if my beads were a bit bigger, but I do like what this little piece looks like. Im already getting faster... oohh.. a whole half inch x 8" in one day. I am impressed with myself.
