I'm in trouble now.

My friend teaches classes for stitching on 40-thread to the inch silk gauze. She's working on a sampler now that will fit in a watch case.

I would never begin to try that! They don't make a magnifying glass good enough for me!

Thanks LC! I've sent you my snail.

Is vellux a blanket, like you'd put on the bed? Or is it something just for beading?

I'm not LC but I can finally answer a question!! LOL Yes, vellux is a blanket and it's wonderful for holding those tiny beads in place. :)

You can try a piece of felt but your needle will get hung up in the tiny fiber loops. Ditto for a kitchen towel.

40 count silk guze isn't that bad, You need magnifiers and great lighting but it's so worth the effort. I've done a little of it and enjoyed it tremendously. It's honestly not as bad as you'd think. Maybe I could work with size 30 beads after all....................?

It's all just a matter of scale, isn't it?

I used to think 22 ct was teeny and now I think 14 count looks like tablecloth checks!

I like using Blue Moon Beads. They are 11's and they are fairly uniform. I just made a bracelet with a design I came up with. I will post pics soon. That is what I made my peyote purse from.

I love seed beads and I am just learning to appreciate big beads. he he

I could Wow. I am going to show my DH this. He thought my beading habit was bad! At least you have a good variety when you want to do a project. I still head to the store and buy what I need! My piece of advice always buy more than you think you need. Then you have extra left over in case you want expand your project in the middle of making it. Sometime a bracelet turns into a necklace! That is when I can't stop!

That is what I like using. I have this little bowl. It make stabbing them really easy.
