Hi Bartje,

just wondering how things are going with your bead store? I wouldn't be surprised if you're as swamped as me starting something entirely new, but I'd like to know how this is going on the other side of the planet.

most of what I sell is going from person to person (jewelry makers) at the local farmer's market :-)

Well, I never meant to carry seed beads, but one of my regulars wanted Ornelas, so now I got Ornelas (and more on order). And very very pink Swarovski crystals (Light Siam AB2X). And I actually started making jewelry with things that I never would have laid eyes on in real life, and now they're in my hands.

Still busy building website myself ...

If you get sterling silver, please post some info (or send me email)

Maren, I'd never heard of "Ornelas" so I googled. It looks like that's a brand, right? What are they known for?

Czech seed beads, I have a customer who wanted those, and I'm impressed with the quality of most of them. The 'lumi' colors are a bit irregular, but the sizes are great from what I've seen - of course so far I mostly used Chinese and Indian seed beads which aren't exactly known for quality.

- What I'm not impressed with is the colors of the 'lumi' beads.

I get mine from a wholesaler in California (actually, they are shipped from the East Coast), Fire Mountain has them, and if you look at the pictures on the Fire Mountain website you get some idea of how even these are. I don't do bead weaving, but I think they'd be ideal for that.

The company that makes them is Jablonex. They have about 5 importers in the US, the only one I found that retails is Fire Mountain (as I have a resale license I went with a wholesaler and am now proud owner of about

60 lb of seed beads - yes, I did sell some already :-) ).

How much space does 60 lbs of seed beads take up? I've never weighed mine.

I know I should post pictures. I've finally got the camera, even if not the skill. Mostly it's time and organization I lack. I'm determined to get the photography stuff together this summer, if for no other reason, because my daughter is getting married in September.
