Can you anneal beads after you take them off the mandrel? I have a small kiln and it can only handle a few beads at a time on the mandrel, so I am looking for a way to get more beads in and save room. Roxan

ONLY if they are small enough that they don't shatter due to the stress before you can get them annealed. I don't recommend you try this with anything sculptural at all.. small spacers - etc - you can run through a hot pot type cycle - clean and "batch" anneal later.

Yes, you can! Just place them so they don't touch one another, on some kind of dish or a piece of fiber blanket so that *if* the kiln malfunctions they don't all fuse to the floor and ruin it. Clean the release out after you anneal, for a lower breakage rate.
