Why not? If the cord fits thru, I don't see why you couldn't.
sure you can. there are even crimp ends make specifically for cord and ribbon that are sized to the diameter of the cord/leather/ribbon.
i am concerned about slippage and also the metal cuttting the cord... any thoughts?

I really just don't like the look of crimps, so I'd much rather tie the silk.

sooz, i think u r probably right. so, as u know i am into pearls lately, what is the traditional way to do the ends of pearl strands?

the french wire sounds too hard, so i think i'll stick to the clamshells. glad to hear that is an acceptable method. thanks!
