OT - doubly blessed

Oh, I am one lucky girl tonight! A special package arrived in the mail. A gorgeous lampwork tab bead, with swirls of brown and grey and sparkles. DH says it looks like Jupiter and he's an astronomer so I guess he knows.

Thank you, Jerri, from the bottom of my heart.

Cheri,

I hope you like it. I had no idea what colors you like or anything, so I was guessing.

I hope you're feeling good. Take care of yourself!

Like it? I LOVE IT! The only color I really don't like is dark mustard yellow, so you couldn't have gone wrong.

Chemo tomorrow - a long tedious day. Mom comes to keep me company, although I keep telling her I don't need babysitting. For some reason, she needs to be there, so that's ok.

As long as the damn stuff works, I can put up with all of it.

I'm glad your mom can be there with you. Just like I keep telling my daughter, no matter how old she gets, she'll still be my baby!

I hope it's not too bad tomorrow!

As a person who did loads of babysitting over the years, I'd like to thank you for letting your mom come along with you for chemo. I know that it would probably be a lot easier for you to spend the time relaxing and alone. But it will give your mom a lot of comfort to be with you, and she'll feel better being there to see that you're being well treated. I know that I always imagined the worst when I was unable to go along with my MIL.

Exactly. Make sure you leave plenty of room in the car for all of the RCB folk who are coming along with you in spirit. We can't be there physically, but you're being carried in our hearts.

Yes you do! You will feel very high after your cocktail trust me, you don't want to be driving. Let mom take care of you, I wish I had mine when I was going through my treatments too.

Please take your meds even if you think you don't need them and start drinking water the minute you walk out of the treatment room and don't stop, the chemicals need to get out of your system. By time you're done with your cocktail, it's work is done, flush that stuff out.

You bet you can!

Hey Cheri - I"ll be thinking about you tomorrow. My brotherinlaw has been undergoing chemo for going on 7 years or so now (oral, he has a rare cancer and the chemo keeps it at bay) and really swears by acupuncture to help deal with the side affects. Except for the horse pill he takes every day, he leads a very normal life with a wife and 2 little ones. I guess the point is, look into the option now, while you still have the energy, and start taking advantage of it.

Keeping you on our synagogue's mishaberach list...

You must have had some better meds than I'm getting! I don't feel high at all after the bags I get there. Then they send me home with a 46 hour drip (like a shoulder bag) which is the one that makes me feel the worst.

I start while I'm there. .

Thanks mom. And all of you, for your support. It means more than I can ever say.
