Ot: I'm on a roll/ Travel fantasy

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I am not sure. Here is my "short list". I have never been out of the U.S., unless you count Mexico when I was 4. I don't remember it. I just have a picture of me in a sombrero and a fringed jacket sitting on a donkey with my father holding the reins.

Bali. Italy. Egypt. Oaxaca, Mexico and the Aztec ruins.

Stonehenge. Ireland, England, Greece, Italy, Germany (again - I've been there once, during the fall of the wall). Ummmm. The possibilities are endless. Yeah, the Aztec ruins sound good. Ahhh, the Grand Canyon, because I have never been. Oh, wow - there are so many places I want to see. The North Pole. Antarctica. I'm sure there are more.

That's a hard one too. Any place I don't have to cook and clean up sounds like a dream vacation to me!

I would go visit all the people Ive made friends with online. UK, all over the United States, Australia, and I would impose on these friends to show me what their world is really like, not what the tourists get to see but the things they deal with every day. Diana

I like that one Diana. Maybe we could do it together. Of course, I would have to come to your house and we would need to come to mine. :-)

#1 destination, no question: New Zealand! And while I was down there anyhow, I'd want to bum around Australia a bit as well.

Beyond that... Hawaii, Ireland, Greece, India, Indonesia. Not that interested in the "touristy" things, but I'd like to see the countryside and interact with the people. Maybe Hong Kong too, just for something different.

I've actually been thinking about "my list" the past few days. Here is some of it:

I want to rent a little country villa in Italy. Something like Under The Tuscan Sun - either the movie or the book would make me very happy.

I want to rent a cottage on a beach for a summer. It could be cape cod, or it could be Hawaii... I'm not too picky. I want sea gulls, I want sand, sand dollars and sea shells. I do want a coffee shop near by though, and Maine lobster for dinner would be perfect. Along with some fresh dug clams. Something quiet and not at all touristy.

I would like to do the same on a lake sometime with kayak at my disposal. Something Ya-Ya sisterhoody - with all my best girlfriends and their kids.

I would like to go back to Belize and explore more of the Mayan ruins. I would love to explore South America, but am afraid it's kind of a dangerous part of the world for Americans. I'm inspired by Isabel Allende's books - I would like to see the places she's described.

I would like to go back to Key West for the Fantasy Fest some time - or Maybe New Orleans again, but not for Jazz Fest next time.

I would love to go to Greece and sail around the islands, but I'm afraid of terrorists.

I think it would be great to explore history in Scotland and England and Ireland - stay in some castles, walk on the moores in the rain.

There's more... but that will do for now.

Italy. Rome and Venice, and I might never leave.

OK, Jerri and Candace can come visit me on the ranch because I am the Queen of Clean (no cleaning required to visit me) and people in Utah think I can cook. (I have never known how to cook. I'm just not afraid to combine things, LOL)
