When I told DH that Mucha was molting, he expressed the hope that Mucha would be as "pretty" as he continuously claims to be by the time DH gets home from a trip to see his family.
DH is due home tonight. I don't think Mucha is ready. Pins all over his head, and several cheek-spots still missing (he doesn't loose them symmetrically, so he looks lop-sided).
Some are just emerging and, because they distort the pattern of stripes on his face, it looks like someone beat him up. He finally lost that feather which was turned backwards on his back which he WOULD NOT let me help him get rid of (unlike the "big beurdies", he doesn't like being touched. We are allowed to blow on his face, and when he gets itchy enough he'll let us preen his neck a tiny bit with our lips. No fingers, and nowhere other then his chin area. Of course, *he* can preen
*us* ANYWHERE and pull ANYTHING he decides is a blemish off of our skin.) His chest also looks all patchy because of lost feathers.Once again, he has failed to molt the really horrible looking stomach feathers, or at least, most of them. We can't figure out why he won't molt this area that obviously needs it. The nutritional supplement the vet gave doesn't seem to be doing anything in that regard.
So... he can claim he is "pah-pretty" or even "Prit!", but he isn't.
*sighs* DH will just have to pretend.marisa2
ps - for you muchacam enthusiasts, no news yet. We switched to DSL which forced us to take Yahoo as our ISP. The webspace they gave us literally is Geocities and a photo-album account. They only allow upload to the website through a webpage ... which means that a program that automatically ftps up every X number of seconds (which is necessary to run a web-cam) won't work. DH is playing with the idea of setting up a web-server in the house. Since we don't have a static external IP address I fail to see what good that will do, other then allowing us to see Muchacam anywhere within our own house (there are a variable number of computers around here, but that number is always way more then one).
Right now Mucha is cooing at me sweetly. That means I'm about to get bitten. I'd better get dressed and go to work. *sighs*
