OT - need a recommendation

Can anyone out there recommend a (free) good spreadsheet program? Want to make up some schedules and think this would probably be the best way to do it. Tried a couple but DH seems to think most programs are incompatible with this windows based POS we have (been having to re-do and re-do it because it keeps having brain farts. glad I read fast!)

TIA!!!!

Have windows ME on here if that means anything. And a LOT of games but the little bits I actually have on here. Honestly think it's his games that's messing up everything but try telling HIM that! (so glad I have a sense of humor)

have a free office suite that works on most systems. I have used it andit works pretty well, especially for the price. Keep in mind that it is opensource software.....Best,Deborah

Maybe spreadsheet isn't the right thing either. I just saw a (IMHO) good example of what I was looking for and I thought it was a spreadsheet. Rows, columns. Trying to coordinate 7 people (even though the baby doesn't have much social life)(yet!) and didn't feel like sitting there with a HUGE piece of paper, ruler and pencils. (even though it would probably be easier in the long run) Asked BIL who's a major computer geek and he's gonna check and see what he's got. Might have a program stashed somewhere so I can have a permanent copy vs a downloaded program I'll have to find again when DH HAS to redo computer (it's not if, it's when)

*That* sounds like it might have been a project scheduling program, which is a different kind of software entirely (and one I know nothing about save the existence thereof).
