"Taria" no msgs. read from here today. are you guys ok out there?
I've been busy with friends I only see once a year for a few weeks. Just now had a chance to read megs. I have done a little sewing this morning, and changed the color thread on the serger for this afternoon. Over the past two months I've been serging doggie paw print blankets for friends. I'm here! Yesterday I got a whole bunch of messages - some were several days old. Today - none until this one. But yes, I'm okay!

I'm here in Aus but I had no messages until yesterday when a whole bunch of them came in, but only yours and 4 replies.
Only 6 today. Been trying to figure out 'how' the SM pedal would work best. In 5 min intervals as I don't wanna push it......so it was a choice between here and there.
There won.
DS and DH were washing windows on the outside. Hopefully, tomorrow they'll do inside.......
SPRING is in the air (remember that song?)
Butterfly (gotta get the feetz back up--higher than the heart again)
Slow and steady wins the race Butterfly, you will get there in the end.
Definitely. DS2 is off at scout camp this weekend!?! so I am hoping for a quiet weekend with no sibling squabbles, which should equate with sewing time for me.

Been busy working and trying to get some birthday presents done. Trying to get some quilting done too. It's nice and warm here in L.A.! I feel for you all in those Tundras!! amy in SoCal
Howdy!
For sure, we've been "out there", out there where the sun is shining, temps in the high 50sF, and there was just enough rain to make the weeds sparkle; lovely to have a green yard in February. Beginning the quilting on an "organized scrappy" that husband wants to lay claim to; he's not willing to give up another quilt, so I don't know how squashed he's going to be, under so many quilts. Meanwhile, we're preparing to move my f-i-l to his new apartment, just a couple of miles from us; wonderful place, I already have friends there; I know he'll enjoy living there. No messages? Well, maybe no one is saying anything. Hard to believe, remembering the days when RCTQ had hundreds of posts per day. Are we quilting more?
Cheers! Ragmop/Sandy - listening to the icy cold wind hit the front door; guess I won't be wearing shorts, tomorrow.. ;-)
What orgainized scrappy patterns are you doing? Inquiring minds want to know!
G> Howdy!
"Organized Scrappy" is just what I am making for my sweetie too! I'm making the Prairie Queen block (but told him it is Prairie King lol) in 4 different dark browns, 4 different medium browns, 4 different cream/beiges and 4 different turquoise. I am just too controlling to make a true scrappy but have my Manual Randomizer at work -- paper bags, draw fabric out of each and sew together, no cheating, no matching!

I think there are just fewer of us. Maybe more experienced too, so there are fewer questions or problems to solve. larchie
Hey, these tundras are warm today. 42 degrees! Water on the roads today and the "lake" at the subdivision entrance is back for a bit. Thursday we had freezing rain and school was cancelled, but at least we're not in the minus teens anymore.

Wow! Steve. That is warm for you this time of year! It was 75* two days ago, yesterday and today have been in the mid
60's. Still comfortable, but the wind is cool. Just the right temperature to hand quilt!! amy in SoCal

We've all been hibernating under a blanket of snow. It got down to -12C the other night. There's been a frantic scramble to get all the homeless under cover. I think there was a report out that they knew of only 9 in the Canterbury area that hadn't come in to the shelters, but since then I've seen no reports of deaths, so I'm thinking they have survived. I hope they found somewhere under cover to doss down... And food. Hot food.
Howdy!
I made up the pattern, just playing w/ the scraps & blocks 'til it looked right. Cut strips of scraps, sew them together, trim to 5.5" squares ('cuz it just felt right). Cut those in half, half again (yes, that does make quarter triangles ; no, I don't worry about bias edges: not a problem). Mix & don't match those triangles into 4-piece blocks. The organized part: Then I took this collection of State Art by Northcott Fabrics, cut up 5.5" squares, took 2 squares, made those part of a 4-patch w/ 2 scrap blocks. Then I found a large piece of a grid of red w/ white stripes (a little hard on the eye, all that grid moving around on the fabric ), used it for the connecting strips. It all got bordered w/ plain black, to compliment the black in the State Art prints
A fun quilt, full-size, so it's kind of heavy; perfect for our "light" Texas winters. Cold today, sleet last night, will be warm in a couple of days. Well, we call it winter. The Winter Texans call it "home".
Cheers! Ragmop/Sandy p.s. I know there are popular quilters who make their fame & livelihood w/ their scrap patterns, & I say, "Good for them!" Great business acumen is quite admirable. I've been doing scrap patterns for 30+ yrs, never sold or stole any of of them from anyone. ;-D Just having fun.
