OT: SanFran old restaurant question

So, we were chatting tonight about cool food in cool places. One of my favorite "finds" was a place my Dad took me to in the late 70's....an Italian restaurant not terribly far from Union Square (Downtown SF, for all intents and purposes). It was called the Iron Pot or Iron Kettle and had the most incredibly good minestrone soup I've ever had in my life. Anyone know where it is/was and if it's still there?

Also....a yummy place across the street (darned if I know which direction, though) from the St. Francis just off Union Square (my folks traveled

4-star, what can I say?). Named after a baseball player....maybe DiMaggio's? They had these huge hot roast beef sandwiches on sourdough rolls and the atmosphere was...rustic. Anyone, anyone.....Bueller?

Ken took me to a really nice restaurant. It has a bar, it has regular tables. But it also has private rooms. Small, but intimate. *FAST* food, the steak was *incredible*. And not that expensive, considering the service (the steak I had i *think* was around $14 which is the "normal" price that I pay). Wish I could remember the name of it.
