Re: Moving Kitties

Valium doesn't work the same on dogs as in humans. Don't use your valium on

>your dog unless the vet tells you to, everyone.

But apparently it's used by vets to treat anxiety in cats. I know my jittery little ball of teeth and claws could use some!

(NOTE: DON'T medicate your puscats with your valium yourself. Your vet had to work out the proper dosage.)

I missed the start of the thread because of an OT filter, but if it's a relatively short trip, what about smearing butter on their paws?

Cats are positively anal about cleanliness, so they'd spend the trip trying to get clean. You could really go to town on the little dear, and put it on ears, tail, back, etc. And there's the bonus that they'd be licking something they like the taste of.

I'd use unsalted butter though - the salt might not be good for the kidneys. Cats are notorious for kidney problems.

Yes, two of my cats have the kitty version of PTSD and one of them gets valium once a year or so when he hits his apex of anxiety.
