Thanks for your advice re the overlocker - can I ask another question? As I don't have an overlocker at all at the moment, and this will be my first purchase of one, would it be better to buy the Evolve rather than the Imagine and a Cover Stitch machine? The Evolve seems to have all the features of the Imagine, plus more, so perhaps it would be a better first buy? Thanks again for your help. Kind regards.

-- Hi sorry for being slow getting back to you. I prefer to have both machines as time and messing around changing the threading etc is a pain when your busy. I set up the coverstitch to run last night and just being able to move along the bench so to say was a boon. I actually don't see the need for eight threads, the Imagine (have a peep at the new Imagine Wave) is a superb machine to run and using four threads a lot less costly too in thread. The evolve was offered to me at the show by a sales lady but even the dealer thought after chatting to me that my best option was stay with the Imagine and get the Coverstitch. I also use the blind hemmer machine by babylock ( My husband gave me grief about saying that my ordinary machine will do it) but again to save time, patience and getting the ironing board out to sort out the folds etc, it is just one single fold and go a totally professional finish. Good luck. If you are in UK do try GUR sewing in Birmingham, superb customer service, beats most prices, not local to me at 100miles away but recommend them everytime for Babylock.

Thanks for all your advice. I'm going to the Stitching Show at Ally Pally tomorrow, so will have a good look at all those on offer whilst I'm there. I'll also look up GUR on the internet to see what their prices are like - I'm in London so it's not such a big deal to drive to Birmingham or alternatively wait until I go to the next Crafts Show at the NEC next month. Once again, thanks for all your help and advice. Kind regards.

Don't worry about having to go to Birmingham. Find your price and just phone them. I always order over the phone, have only been down there once to peep as we were in the area for work. Last guy I spoke to there was Simon. The cheapest inc at the show was £649 for the coverstitch , they did it £639. The cheapest blind hemmer £499 they did it £429 Babylock - Dennis the main man for uk will be at the show with one of the dealers and grab a price off him then ring Bham tell them and never known them not come up cheaper. They also did next day delivery free too. Still with all the free stuff plus same service etc. When I bought my Imagine, he beat them by £10 plus popped in the workbook & sewing tray as free extras that babylock said they couldn't do. I am on the Wirral up in the North West. Have a fab time at the show tomorrow. G.U.R. Sewing Machines 162 Halesowen Street Blackheath Birmingham Email Tel 0121 5615169
