Embroidery on towels

Is there something better than Solvy? Although Solvy worked, I had to wash the towels afterwards to get rid of the stickiness. I had understood that when you sprayed the Solvy, it just disappeared -- there was no mention of the stickiness.

Also would it be better to loosen the tension as I found the embroidery hard?

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I got a great tip from someone on this forum once.. and have used it ever since: Bake-in bags!

At my local grocery store (in the US) they carry the "Reynold's Oven Bags" brand. But any of the "bake-in" bags will work. It's a nice thin (clear) plastic. I cut a piece bigger than my design and lay it on top of the fabric. Stitch the design, then tear it away. Works wonderfully and will hold up to the heat of the dryer. Cheap too.

I use it any time I'm afraid the embroidery may sink into the material. Towels, knits, hats (center seam).

Yes, I concur, Reynolds Bake-In-Bags work like a champ.
