Re-Embroidery on Towels

Thank you jackiepsews

I will certainly try the 2 items you mentioned.

Also Speedy and Fred......... I have some cook in bags so I will be able to try them too.

Your help is much appreciated.

Has Solvy got any other uses? I have quite a bit left, plus some scraps.

Don't forget if you keep the solvy in a jar mixed with water put some alchohol in to stop mold from growing.

Nana I did the same -- I cut as much as possible away before I wet the Solvy. Like I said to Jackie maybe I didn't leave it long enough because I hated trying to get this gooey mess from the towels. Do you find the design is hard? Should I loosen the tension or is the hardness normal?

I think the hardness is normal due to the density of the design. Did you do a monogram or a graphic? Sometimes the stabilzer makes it stiffer. It is such a small area, I do not worry about it.

I did flowers but as you say it's a small area.

Jackie Thank you so much for taking the time to help. I have printed out your instructions so that I can refer to them until I get the hang of it all. I will also give Aqua Magic a try, as well as tulle etc. I guess I'm going to have a spending session real soon, vbg. I will let you know when I try a lace design and how I get on. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun. Once again thank you.

I machine knit and I use solvy which works a dream, Ann

Thanks Ann. The Solvy worked but I was disappointed at how sticky it left the towel. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the product.

Today while sorting through my 'assorted products' drawer I discovered at the bottom a roll of Pellon Sol-U-Web. How long I've had it I'm not sure or where I bought it, probably 'Nancy's Notions'. I think I must have bought it to try and got involved in something else and just forgot about it. Has anyone used this product?

I use an un-named variety as well as it is cheaper and I can get it locally. However on Towels I use tulle net, like bride veil, and CAREFULLY clip away the excess. voile also works so I keep scraps of both. Ann
