On Topic Questions

First, I'm frustrated with my Bali Southwest batik. I've washed it twice, tonight in warmer water than before, and there are still "wax spots" on my horses. Grr.!! How do I get rid of them??

Second, does anyone want my scraps? I toss things that I think are too little to use, thread ends and trimmings into a special bin, and its full. I would happily dump it into a box and send it to someone that is making floor cushions or whatever. Otherwise, I think I'll just chuck it in the garbage bin.

Let me know, either or both questions.

TIA, TerriLee in WA (state)

Put the fabric between paper towels or a couple pieces of brown paper bag and iron with a hot iron. The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper. Change the paper as needed until all the wax is gone.

If it's a large piece you may want to boil it. That's how they remove the wax when it's made although they didn't appear to do a very good job with yours.

Thank you for the answers about the batik. I will try the ironing technique. Boiling fabric just seems too scary.

And the scraps have been claimed, so they will get shipped to their recipient shortly (within the week).

Thanks bunches,
