embroidery books

Are there any good books to walk a newbie through embroidery techniques, stabilizer types and applications, etc?

Hi there, I recently bought 2 Jeanine Twigg books, Embroidery Machine Essentials ISBN (US) 0-87341-999-5 $27.99 = £16.99 Embroidery Machine Essentials Basic Techniques. I haven't got it to hanf for the ISBN

I bought them in U.K. from Borders to help a friend use her machine. Although I have been embroiderering for years I still found these quite useful. Hope this helps.

One of the best set of books I've seen is Jeanine Twigg's three books. Embroidery Machine Essentials-Basic Techniques--learning about hooping, stabilizing and stitching. " " " -everything from A to Z about embroidering with step by step photos. More " " " -combining decorative designs, editing stitches, creating new designs, and basic software information. Then there is Nancy Cromwell's book Embroidery Machine Essentials-Fleece Techniques. All of these are available through Clotilde and several other sources and all have a CD with designs to use.
