Pricing embroidery services

Jan 28, 2004 1 Replies

I know this has been covered, but I can't find it. Can anyone help! How do most shops price embroidery services? Here's what I'm doing:

Creating the design and producing the embroidery file from a very rough sketch (around 7700 stitches), embroidering it on 8 articles of clothing, embroidering a different name on each of the same 8 items but in different locations (1900 - 2800 stitches each).

I really appreciate any advice...

Thanks,

Fred

I would think that you would have two charges here: a set up fee and embroidery fee. Figure how much time you spent getting the file ready, and charge accordingly, then the actual embroidery is how much time and materials to produce the articles. There are various formulas for computing the sale price, including your overhead and profit margin, but I don't happen to know these.
