Religious designs

I'm mostly a lurker, but hope to have an embroidery machine soon(ish). I currently mostly quilt and cross-stitch, with some apparal sewing...which I hope will be changing soon...

My younger brother has decided to study for the priesthood, and after his first year at seminary, seems very happy and satisfied with his choice. So, I'm starting to look for designs that I can embroider onto vestments for him. Designs such as grapes and wheat, crosses, doves, etc. Also, designs that could be repeated to make designs upto 5" wide (ish) by a yard or two in length. Prefer low or no cost, but at the moment, I'm more than willing to look at designs for sale. (I have a few years before he would graduate and be ordained). At this time design format doesn't matter much either, as I am still looking at machines....but I would like an idea of what may be available before I really go about purchasing an embroidery machine. (not much good to buy a machine and then find out it's next to impossible to find appropriate designs for it, huh?)

Thanks in advance!

I think you will fine that religious designs are one of the most commonly digitized subjects, at least for the mainstream religions. Try Annthegran and others and you will find a surfeit of designs that might meet your needs.

Yes, Ann the Gran has three pages in the 'Christian' category and there are a few at Tashambra's Menagerie:

I know they have a beautiful wheat border and corner design, and many crosses, as well as a complete set of the Nativity.....NAYY......just buy a lot of stuff from them. Prices very reasonable.
