Hello, I have been given a zundt design collection for my birthday. I have looked at their designs for every year I have had an embroidery machine and drooled each time. I want to try one of the smaller designs first but I am wondering about the stabilizing. This design is only 3 x 3 inches but has 14,000 stitches!! Yikes!! Should I use a smaller needle?? Will it be impossible to use gold metallic thread?? Anyone who has any zundt sew out experience PLEASE (hunny n sugah) post info here. Thanks a million!! Sun

I sewed out Zundt corners on scarves and etc. for my Niece's wedding............VERY DENSE.........I used rayon white on a lavender.......beautiful.......but I backed them all with Brother Iron on to HOLD the fabric, plus I floated a tear-away underneath...........be prepared for a long sit when you start one......gazillion stitches. I would not do all metallic thread........some of them show 2 colors and silver is the "trim" and outline...........not sure which designs you have but metallic is terribly bulky I think.....JMHO

If you mean a lace, yes I made many with no problems. I use 5 layers of solvy stabilizer and many times metallic thread, using a metallic needle. Mitzi
