Fusing glass to ceramics.

May 19, 2004 1 Replies

I was wondering if anyone has attempted to fuse glass to ceramics.

What I want to do is to slump and fuse a borosilicate glass plate to a ceramic piece. I assume it can be done since glazes are basically glass. I just was wondering how difficult it would be, and if a low COE can be maintained this way.

I also need to know what ceramics would best be suited to this.

We commonly use mulite to seal to Pyrex. The COE is 33.
