Ahhhh, cricket on a warm green afternoon. When I was in Grade VII and VIII, university students from Pakistan, India, and Nigeria used to come down the bridge and play cricket in the park next to our school. Our teacher would let us go, and we would spend hours lying in the grass, enjoying the sun, and watching white-clad gentlemen play this inexplicable game. They stopped for tea a lot, and were unfailing patient in trying to explain, and we never did figure it out. Very picturesque, in the middle of the prairie, to have this bit of England, brought to us by other former colonies like ourselves. Dawne

I like taking the kids to the Nashua Pride and Manchester FisherCats games. The Pride is mostly has-beens on the way down, but they get some of the old names - Butch Hobson is the manager. Luis Tiante was there recently. The FisherCats are a farm league team and mostly on the way up, it's fun and kid friendly!
