clear gift wrap?

I made the mistake of buying what I thought was silver wrap - figured all set for any occasion. Two for one sale. Opened one to wrap a grab gift for NYE - ach- clear as glass. Any ideas how to use this stuff up? I hate giving it storage space if I won't ever use it. Why do ppl buy this stuff?

Thanks.

If you make a basket of fruit, goodies or whatever for a gift, use a large sheet of it under the basket and bring it up over the fruit (whatever) and tie nicely. In order to use a lot of it you could always put all sorts of things in baskets and do the same, it uses quite a bit.

Nice at Easter for eggs etc. You could always put a clear layer over a gift wrap layer to make the wrapping more special.

I guess I could use it instead of Saran for gifting cookies and date nut breads. I know I can't return it - the wrapper was destroyed. I did notice the word transparent after I'd removed the wrapper. That'll teach me to read a little more arduously before I head for the checkout.

Sounds good too, for any food products. I have a large roll of clear except it has some white swirls on it, but I have found it useful over time.

1.Wrap your gift in Alum foil or wrapping paper then wrap in the saran wrap. Give it the finished look. 2.If that does not work for you, donate it to a local school art teacher. 3.If you paint use it for mixing your paints on.(make a stained glass picture with it .
  1. give it as a gift to someone who makes breads and cakes and cookies Barbara

I had removed and destroyed the outer wrap. What gave it a silver look, I don't know, but it sure fooled ME.

Same way that a roll of Saran pretty much looks silver when there is enough of it.

I like to bake, and am often carting baked goods to church or giving them as gifts. A couple of years ago my friend gave me a terrific birthday gift: a shopping bag full of fancy-shmancy paper plates, plastic platters, Chinese-takeout type "designer" packages, etc. for my food gifting. She'd bought them all through the year when they were on clearance and she happened on them. It was a wonderful gift...and I just now finished it up, probably two years on!

Not that much money was spent. I also don't have the receipt. I may end up just bringing it to Goodwill with a big fat note attached. Anything to keep it outta the landfill without SOME use.
