Ideas/Suggestions for XS Chart Makers

If I have ideas or suggestions for cross-stitch charts, does anyone know how/where I could submit them to the chart companies? Or does anyone out there make/design charts? I find that I keep searching for certain themes and find nothing at all. I bought PC Stitch but frankly I don't seem to have whateve knack is needed to make my own charts. Sigh. ;-) Wish I could!

Does anyone else have this experience? What can we do?

For several years now, I have been stitching virtually nothing except the counted cross stitch charts I produce with Pattern Maker, but I am sure PCStitch is just as good. The trick is to find the right chart amidst competing restrictions. You have to choose a pattern that is small enough that you want to stitch it, has enough detail so the end result is worth looking at, and a pattern that is not so complicated that it drives you crazy while you are stitching it, plus numerous other problems. Basically I sorted this out for myself by trial and error. I bought a digital camera to take pictures of wild flowers to turn into patterns. None of my efforts came anywhere close to being successful. And other different sorts of efforts. Now, I am pretty much able to look at a picture to tell if might be a worthwhile project, run it through Pattern Maker and see what the end product might look like, and keep it on my computer for future reference. Typical patterns are about 40,000 stitches and up, so you dont need many patterns to keep you busy. Members of my Guild, the Ottawa Valley Guild of Stitchery admire my work, but most are still with full time jobs, so the time it takes to stitch these patterns makes them unattractive for them. If you were to ask me how I recognize which pictures might be suitable for me, I have really no idea. It is a combination of too many factors. I have lots of time as I live alone, and am retired. If you are interested in what my patterns look like, they are easy to send over the Internet. I have a copy of PCStitch Pattern Viewer, and Pattern Viewer for Pattern Maker is free from

Donna, right now primarily: books/reading (I used to own a bookstore and hope to again someday, I'm a book fanatic!)... country-western... quilting & sewing... There ARE patterns out there of these topics but limited. Esp. when compared to the number of baby items, teddy bears, Christmas, etc.! ;-)
