My wife has been doing cross-stitch and blackwork for most of her life. However, she was reading about the Hardwick embroideries (Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire, UK) recently and came across the term "strapwork" which is unfamiliar to her. A search via Google produced nothing but information on bookbinding and woodwork. Can anyone here help?
