You made me go and read the report! It is an ongoing study, with several phases on OCD. I was part of phase 1.
Phase 1 (1995-2000)." Over 800 individuals from more than 150 families were interviewed. results indicate that OCD occurs more frequently in certain families.Relatives of people with OCD are 5 times more likely to have OCD than are relatives of people without OCD "
Phases 2 and 3.(2000 to 2007)paraphrasing this one.Over 300 Families with 2 or more individuals with OCD were interviewed and completed the first large genome-wide linkage scan of OCD. Suggestive linkage signals found on regions of chromosomes 1,3,6,7,and 15. Now fine-maping such areas.
Phase 4 will interview and collect DNA samples from 2000 individuals with OCD and their parents in order to find smaller chromosome linkage.
They say this is an exciting start, but it is IMPORTANT to note that they have not yet found any genes or specific genetic markers for OCD. Nor is there any genetic test available for the identification of OCD.
That was page 1...there are more pages with lots of bibliography amd other details .
