OFF TOPIC - I 'm going to run away

I had a piper, wasn't all bad, at least practice was chanter time.

Has anyone here had the pleasure of having a kid next door learning the trumpet? It sounded like a herd of elephants charging through the walls.

My son played the trumpet, so unfortunately it didn't have to come through the walls! The piper also played a clarinet which could be painful when it squeaked. Her second son has gone on to master a variety of instruments too, so she also got assorted sound.

Myself, I was a whistler. My grandmother always gave me the task of shelling the peas for the family meal and I was ordered to keep whistling the whole time, that way there was no snacking. Whistling stopped and she was right there !!

ROTFL! When I was a teenager, I regularly took my (huge, enormous, heavy and in a large black hard case) 12-string guitar to school on the bus. I can't begin to tell you how hard it is to accomodate a four-foot long case full of precious guitar when the bus is full to the eyebrows!

My mom always said she was told to whistle when she was peeling shrimp, and that's been handed down in the family. I've never heard anyone else with the same experience before!
