I decided to cut em in half, stitch the rough edge and use em as dish towels. They all have a small hole or stain, I never cover bureaus, and will NOT pay today's prices for a linen dish towel. I had posted here a while back about converting them to napkins, but I just know they would look very unprofesh, plus I have a drawerful of cloth napkins.

Although this is a great use of old embroideries . . . you might find that you will love sack cloths. They are very absorbent, lint free. I love them for covering bread as it's rising, quick mop-ups, and when they get old, I use them for dust cloths. They really last a long time.
