I dont think I can say anything more than I have said already. However, I can report that the Muslim leaders in Canada seem finally to have woken up to the fact that *they* have a problem. Unless the Muslim community in Canada *does* something they are likely to be treated "badly" by the rest of Canadian society. (I cannot think of a better word than "badly"). Muslim leaders here are finally urging Muslims to "snitch" on fellow Muslims to the law enforcement agencies, if they suspect that terrorist attacks are being contemplated. It is still only words, but they are the right words. I wont *feel* any safer until I hear from someone like the Commissioner of the RCMP on this issue.

You are absolutely right, and as I noted, I wont feel safe until I hear it from the RCMP, or some such. However, we are playing the probabilites here. The more Canadian Muslims feel they are Canadians first; the more their leaders encourage them to "snitch" on each other and inform the law enforcement agencies; the more they are taught not to look upon Muslims in other parts of the world as being more important than their Canadian neighbours; the less likely it is that we have an environment where an Al Qaeda sleeper cell can hide. Whether we can drive the probability that terrorists can hide in the Muslim community of Canada to zero, I do not know. But if we all, including the Muslims, work towards the same goal, we might just succeed.

I advice both you and others to stop saying Al-Quaida and say . Islamic Jihad Followers. There is open talk amongst Fundamenatlists , about renewing the Spanish Challiphat, Renewing the old Golden times when Islam was the most Developed Culture . We must thank them for developing Math , Astronomy , Many ideas in medicine ,It is part of an 800 years old grudge some fundamentalists carry. ,,, Now that they hit Egypt again , In tourists resorts, { the world Jihad aims at tourists /transport for economic reasons], A Shech from Al

-azhaar university, Condemmed Terrorists , and said it was not the Islamic way, Let`s hope , that such a Declaration from Such an impoertant person Heading such a Highly important authority will start a Wave of more Religious people , try and push this ugly wave away.

Snitching and giveing brothers to other authorities aren`t the way.

PREVENTION , is the way ,, like with `Aids` , one can`t stop it , but one can do a lot to prevent it. mirjam

If you think they have a monopoly on that, maybe you should read a little history.

It is rather an ironic statement coming from a Brit, isn't it?
