Re: In your stash: what do you want to do?

Linda, Linda, Linda -- I'm much to lazy wander across the room to look up the name of the designer whose stumpwork designs I bought at EGA National or to the bookcase to pull out the 'craft' books that have several 'interesting' pieces. The old timey crewel kits I bought at the rummage sale *might* keep me busy for a few weeks. I'm using 'em as practise for the teeny, tiny pricey Tonja Berlin 'kit'. I've also got Alma Lynn's Fannie Flosswinder chart that I want to convert to surface embroidery.

We are having a class with Tanja Berlin in about three weeks. She's in Ontario doing classes for six guilds - It works well because the groups split her travel expenses. It's a two day class and I'm really looking forward to it.

choose the Dragonfly piece. She had three different pieces from which to choose.

The dragonfly piece MargW mentioned. The package contained all the materials needed to complete the project but I can't believe frugal me spent $45 US for such a little piece.

Love that one, in fact it is in my ufo section lol

I think with her things she wants you to use so many colours that realistically it would be hard to kit it yourself for a like price.

I think you got a bargain.

Again, I'm too lazy to walk across the room ... best as I recall, the kit uses precut lengths of DMC floss and a spool of kreinik braid. My guess is that it is expensive because of the silk ground, the bonded appliques, and the extensive instructions which include a color photo plus Ms Berlin or a minion seems to have hand drawn the design on the ground as well as the applique shapes.
