Sewing Without a Pattern

I have been searching for instructions to make a toaster cover, without using a pattern. I saw this on the Carol Duvall show on HGTV a long time ago. Does anyone have these instructions?

I don't know if you could n't find them searching HGTV, but... Just get some blank paper, measure the toaster front, measure the width across the slots, the height, and the length - and you can make your own pattern. You can do it with 3 pieces - one that would run up one side, across the slots and down the other, and a front/back piece. Just leave yourself the seam allowance you're comfortable with. (1/2" - 5/8" ) Alternatively, do the side and top as 3 piecese - a side, top, side, and then you'd get a more pointed corner. It's not that hard. Or you could lay your toaster down to trace the shape.

Personally, I'd probably line it , make a similar set for the inside, and then sew it all around the perimeter except a small turning place - right sides together. Then turn, and just close your turning opening.

If you really want a pattern, I bet that Simplicity has one in the home dec section.

Good luck, ellice
