Hands On! - Beginner Want to find out what clay is all about? Learn how to make basic forms in no time flat! Construct functional objects and learn decorative techniques. Go home with works of art that you can use. Work can be picked up two weeks following the last class. Kathleen Moroney

Cone 9 Reduction Workshop & Weekend - Intermediate/Advanced
3rd Avenue Clay, Brooklyn, NY?418 3rd Avenue (between 6th & 7th St.) Explore the possibilities of this reduction technique while you participate in loading and firing a cone 9 gas kiln. Meet as a class in Brooklyn to see the kiln, learn about glazes and the firing process. Students will work during benchtime at CSL to create their work for firing. Glaze on Friday, load kiln on Saturday and return for firing on Sunday at 3rd Avenue Clay. Work can be picked up following Tuesday. Meet at 3rd Avenue Clay for first class. Adrienne Yurick

Effective Glazing - Intermediate/Advanced Do you have a lot of bisque ware waiting to be glazed? In this one day workshop you will learn how choose glazes that enhance your work. Through slides, discussion and glazing demos learn how to get the look you want with the glazes you have. Bring a notebook, paintbrushes, paper mask, and 2 bisque pieces (cone 6 only). Sarah Emond

Silver Clay?PMC Plus - All Levels Works like clay and fires to 99% silver. Use PMC Plus as a clay, a paste and in a syringe. Make pendants, earrings or sculpture miniatures. Forming, texturing, setting stones, drying and firing will be done in the morning, finishing and patina in the afternoon. Additional PMC Plus will be available for sale during class. Ceramic Plates - All Levels Focusing on slab construction, create your own plates out of clay. Learn surface decoration and finishing techniques including sgraffito, stamping, glazing and sprigging. Stretching Creativity - All Levels Students learn through exercises and projects designed to loosen inhibitions and encourage risk-taking. This liberating class will focus more on content and process than finished results. Daily group discussion and analysis of work will expand students' understanding and awareness of their personal approach to art-making and the medium of clay. Vera Lightstone
