asks "hi there im trying to figure out how to make my ceramicshave a glaze that is quite soft and almost furry, i know that soundsstrange but is there a way?" If I had an area of expertise this would definitely be outside it! Anyone got any suggestions? Pierre

There is a "velvet" type of effect used for raku firings. While I have not done it myself, I have seen the results. It does look soft but obviously does not feel soft. The only book I have seen this process referred to is:

The Potters Guide to Ceramic Effects, by Jo Connell. ISBN 1-86155-608 X

Hope this helps Hugh, Hamilton, New Zealand.
