Pottery classes?

Hello, folks! I'm a new lurker to this newsgroup. I'm hoping you can help me connect with a pottery community in Portland, Oregon. My mother was a potter, and I grew up scouring the hills (so to speak) for native clays. Sometimes we'd build raku kilns on the beach and fire what we made there! I'd like to get back into it!

I've looked at community college classes, and there are some in our area. Are there other places one can look for access to a kiln? Do those "glaze commercial pottery" places often let people rent kiln space?

thanks in advance for your help.

I buy glazes from this company in the Portland/Eugene area. I am sure that they can hook you up.

My sister lives > I took pottery at Multnomah Art Center, just down the street

Hope this helps!
