refiring

I refired a bowl that had previously overfired and was quite full of bubbles. My thinking was that another firing would smooth them out, but they are the same, if not worse. It seemed like something that should work. Why didn't it? Any ideas? Thanks, Gaye

If it was overfired and had bubbles nothing is goung to fix it.I cut my fingers on a recent firing of mine/

If it was underfired and had bubbles a firing to a cone or two higher or a longer soak should smooth them out.

Send me your glaze formula and I'll have a look at it

John, It was a commerical glaze. I am sure it was originally very overfired, not underfired. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks, Gaye

John, This was a bowl from a troubled bisque firing. I think you've solved the whole problem. Thanks! Gaye
