a silly question

There's always the cotton lame'. It's not quite as glittery, but a LOT easier to use and it's washable. I have some I could share if it's not too big a piece that's needed...

Lame' ravels like the devil but I think if it is stay stitched, then hemmed, and used in reverse applique, it would work out fairly well. I'm not sure if it's washable or dryer safe though. Debra in VA See my quilts at

My steam iron created a very interesting effect on lamé; not something I wanted - just interesting... rather like crocodile I think. It does indeed ravel; the edges look like Christmas tree tinsel very quickly. I decided I would fuse it to something lightweight before I cut it next time. If any of you have a need for tinsel-edged crocodiles, I'll be glad to help with the details. Polly

Cotton Lame'. I'll have to look for that. I've got plenty of time to find some. I won't have time to start a new quilt until next year. Debra in VA See my quilts at
