What an incredible find. The article didn't say who found it or how much they paid for the quilt, but I am sure that its value wasn't discovered until the person took it home and started looking at it in detail. Thank goodness they didn't just throw it into the washer and dryer! The person had to have some quilt savvy.
Fascinating! It's amazing that this quilt was simply dropped off at the thrift shop, but how wonderful that someone there recognized the names and realized that the quilt was important. :)
