I want to applique a panel approx 17" wide x 36 tall with flowers (natural looking as though they're growing in the garden). Can anyone point me towards a pattern or a book (I have an Amazon token waiting to be spent!) Its flat applique I need, not 3-D.
Apologies if this is a double posting, but my first hasn't shown up so I'm trying again.

Thanks. The first picture I saw when I 'looked inside' is the sort of thing I envisage though narrower of course. I prefer doing hand applique. but can adapt it to that.
At the moment its a pieced background (rectangles) in paleish greens, and probably batiks for the flowers in mainly pinks (?) of various kinds, and darker green leaves. I know batiks in applique will create sore fingers, but it wont be for long!!
I want to go for a fairly natural look rather than folksy.
Its to be double sided hanging on an interior window between the hall and kitchen, with the flowers to face the kitchen and be the only bit of colour and pattern in there. The other side which will face the hall will have April, May and June mini picture blocks from the Carol Doak BOM. I'm doing a series of four hangings which I will change every three months - sort of calendar hanging. Oct, Nov. and December went up yesterday, and I am reasonably sorted for the Jan, Feb, March and the July, August and Sept. Its just the 'flowers that bloom in the Spring, tra la'.
The Autumn one has Autumn leaves on the kitchen side, the winter one will have a panel incorporated - wintery trees and water (brrrr!)along with some flying geese and trees. The Summer one will be Seaside of course.
Its just these flowers! There are a lot of books on Amazon, but unless they have a 'look inside' its difficult to tell whats in there
