this is cute with not too much embroidery of the wee bluebirds. has a pincushion and spool holders along with several pockets to hold whatever fits. she has quite a few other free tutorials that might be of interest to someone. j.

My armchair caddy is a matching hand towel that I folded up a few inches to make three pockets to hold sewing items. I have a few needles stuck in the outside of one of the pockets and scissors, thread, and other things in the pockets. My caddy also acts as an arm protector for the chair. I have another matching caddy on the other chair to hold the TV controls. Barbara in hot SC

then my post was obviously not for you, Barb.

thats a good idea for the towels. . just a few days ago i culled some older hand towels from the closet. didnt want to toss them out but couldnt think what would be the best use of them. i'm just not happy useing them as hand towels, not enough nap left to get your hands really dry. that is one good idea.

might also make a winter bed shrug from one or two of them as well. the terry is still good enough for that purpose. i could add some fabric scraps in some config that gives the illusion of something fairly nice anyhow i guess. now to come up with a pattern of sorts for that. hmmm. thanks for getting my brain in gear in another direction with those old towels. j.

No pictures, but to make it, all you do is turn up one end of a rectangle and sew it into 2 or 3 pockets. Real easy! Pins & needles are just stuck in the area right below the arm of the chair. My caddy goes over the arm of my chair that is next to the wall, so I don't worry about the dog getting pinned. Barbara in SC
