Batting source

I'm trying to get my supplies organized for camp next month, and I was hoping to have it all done before my eye surgery a week from today, since I'm not sure I'll be able to see well afterwards. Off to JoAnn's I trekked, only to discover that they no longer have Hobbs 80/20, which is the batting I usually use and almost always prefer. :( My LQS also doesn't have it.

So, does anyone here know of a good place to order online? I'd like a decent price, since I'll have to pay shipping, and I just know someone here has a source!

Thanks!

One time we tried whatever special super bargain batting they were offering and it was unsuitable. (Didn't I say that nicely?) They've always had the size/kind of batting we need at a decent price. Polly

"jennellh" Hi Sandy, Hancock's of P. price is ~$13.99 for queen size + shipping while Connecting Threads' price is ~$18.95 with no shipping for orders $50 and over in US.

Also, at Spring market a few weeks ago, The Warm & Natural company had a newer batting out that is the same 80/20 blend. I think it was called Warm & Soft and it had a Very Nice hand! Don't know how the pricing compares. NAYY

It is Warm Blend, I believe. Have been using some of it in my last couple of things. Seems to be nice. A bit more "fluffy" and drapey than Warm and Natural/White. Haven't yet washed anything with it in, but will later on this week.

Can't blame her though --if you can make a job for yourself with a procedure , good for you! .. ..If you click on the pictures on that site in my last email ( most of them were at the bottom of that site ) you might understand it...but I got lost in all the folds !!! Whew...I gave up trying to understand ! Mary

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I am not particularly fond of Warm & Natural, though I know many are, so I really am looking for the Hobbs. Unfortunately, I don't have room for a roll of batting, though I really wish I did; it would be so convenient to be able to pull off just what I need! Two people have suggested Batt-Mart (thanks, Polly and Ragmop!), which looks really good, except that I don't really have room to store as many as they want to sell at one time. Drat! The price is great!

Jennell, thanks for your two suggestions; I'm going use one of those. :)

I noticed the new bamboo batting in my JoAnns the last time I was there. I "think" JoAnns replaced Hobbs with the Fairfield brand?? Whatever they replaced their Hobbs 80/20 with, I used it to make a baby quilt & I actually liked it better than Hobbs.

Do you have a Hancock's or Hobby Lobby near you? I think they both carry the Hobbs 80/20.

Smile! I went on a workshop for a Cathedral Windows by machine. I managed to stay with it during the day; but, when I came to finish it at home a little later, I couldn't even fathom how I had done what I did - never finished the sample, never wanted to! . In message , MB writes
