Though I wasn't sure about this batting, I have found that it behaved it self very well during machine quilting. It is very much like the Warm & Natural 100% cotton, though Warm & Safe is said to be made from plantation trees. It had the same clingy properties that I count on when I use other cotton battings and also Hobbs 20/80 (my first choice). It held up excellent through the quilting, lots of pushing and pulling by me in the process . Finished with the nice flat look that I like in quilts, and the drape is just like other battings of the same thickness. I did not pre-wash of do anything at all to it before layering for quilting, nor did I wash it afterwards, so I can't say what it would be like after being wetted and dried, as far as any shrinkage or puckering or how laundering would affect the feel or drape of the quilt. I do have a bit of leftovers that I may experiemt with. Oh, and I tried a burn test on a bit of it: the flame from a match burned it but it didn't "catch" fire. Just kind of smoked a liitle, like newspaper when you try to light it unsuccessfully. Likewise, it left black ash, very much like burning 100% cotton batting. Would I use it again? Absolutely. My first choice is still Hobbs 20/80, but Warm and Safe would be a perfectly acceptable substitute. Mickie
