buttonholes on Berninas

On page 43 of my manual, it discusses how to mark the various types of buttonholes. For automatic buttonholes, it says to mark the start of all buttonholes, but the end of only one. You use the end mark of that one to set the length of all subsequent ones. On page 48 of my manual, it tells how to "Programme the standard buttonhole", by sewing forward, stopping the machine & then pressing reverse. You do that at the end of the marked buttonhole. The rest of that buttonhole is sewn automatically. All subsequent buttonholes are sewn automatically until you clear the program.

So, essentially, for the first buttonhole, you:

• mark its length
• sew from its start to its length, which you marked
• stop sewing & hit the reverse button
• autmatically sew the reset of that buttonhole
• move to the start of the next buttonhole and automatically sew it
• repeat the last step until all buttonholes are sewn You can then clear the buttonhole program or save that buttonhole in long term memory (see page 48).

That's about the same way I do it on my Husqvarna when I'm not using the special sensor foot.
