Corner triangle size?

I have blocks that finish at 6". I want to put these on point and use cream fabrics for the 4 corner triangles. How large should I cut the squares for this? Do I want the bias edge on the hypotenuse or on the short sides?

It's been up about four times, Jo + answers on a couple of the threads generated. Perhaps there is something amiss with your computer? There was a long and detailed answer this morning, from someone who is actually working on precisely the same layout as yourself, and has all the measurements to hand. Try Googling Archives for it? . Whoa! I don't know what happened there. I did just go to Google and read all the replies to my mysterious post.... thanks everyone! I emailed all the bits to myself for future reference.
