Craving Chocolate

What do you do when you get a craving for chocolate while quilting at midnight.

I tried to get if off my mind, but I could almost taste chocolate covered peppermint patties and chocolate fudge.

It got so bad I started sewing blocks together all wrong. What to do, What to do.

Do I dare go to Walmart at this time of night. NO-o-o-o-o.

Frustration.... then, Lightbulb moment.

I wanted to make a plain yellow cake with fudge icing some weeks ago and never got around to it. So-o-o-o I got the tub of triple chocolate fudge with chocolate bits in it and a spoon.

Three spoons full later and I was in heaven. Went back to frogging the blocks with total consentration on what I was doing.

Its true the small things in life really are the best.

I'd hit the store. Wal-Mart security is really good. Besides, you don't have to deal with a crowd at this hour. More time to browse the fabrics!

Chocolate frosting doesn't do it for me :-( I would probably make myself a cup of real Dutch cocoa, maybe with a little sprinkle of cinnamon. Best to keep a few brownies in the freezer, individually wrapped, for such emergencies! Hmm -that's what I'd better do this afternoon! Roberta in D

You would have loved one of my molten chocolate cakes! I cooked some more Sunday night -- cooked them a little longer and they came out PERFECT!

AGain --- so horribly decadent.... but if you're looking for chocolate.... this is what you need!

Also -- way back when somebody posted how to make little individual servings of cake from cake mix... I think this is the "recipe"

Chocolate Snack Cake All you do is mix a half cup of the cake mix with a quarter cup of water, put it into a smallish microwave container, and nuke it on High for a minute and a half.

Instant gratification! You can't beat that!

Thanks Kate for the recipe. I do have a couple of those little boxes of one layer cakes. am going to try your idea.

Going to Walmart late at night is not a good idea in this area.

Your suggestion will keep me quilting into the wee hours. (giggle)

I usually have a glass of chocolate milk. Just plain old milk and Nestles Quick (why did they change that name to Nesquick? Stupid) from my childhood.

Speaking of chocolate -- Found a Lindt Factory Outlet today. Limited myself to the large chocolate bars which were 10 for $12. I shared one with hubby and I'm hiding the rest for an emergency.

At that price they'd make lovely squishies- well, with warmer weather coming on they might be really, really squishy by the time they arrived! LOL
