Crazy quilting site, needlework blog, and inquiry about "twisted chain" patchwork

I just found Sharon B's blog,

while I was poking around looking for crazy quilt sites and for the so-called "twisted chain" American patchwork design. I love these sites! The Twisted Chain was mentioned in a quilt history book I recently read as the most difficult patchwork a traditional quilter from hill country had ever worked. I can't find it on line by that name. Any suggestions?

TIA, ep

I am being tacky by replying to my own message, but here is a fantastic crazy quilt site:

Remember when I found all those cotton and linen dresses on sale at a thrift store for $1 apiece? I've cut out all the seams and I think they'll be perfect for a crazy quilt, lap quilt. Some of the bodices have embroidery and beadwork, which should add readymade interest to the crazy patchwork, and I also saved dozens of interesting buttons from the dresses that would look very sharp on a crazy quilt.

This is my favorite crazy quilt primer I've found so far:

I haven't seen much mention of crazy quilts here at RCTQ, or maybe I just skipped over them because I wasn't planning to do one yet?

EP, it is just fine for you to answer your own post. We also talk to ourselves, our SMs, and certainly our stash. The only quilter here that I know of that is currently planning a CQ is Doc, but there are many here who have a 'one day' CQ. Thank you for the loopylace site; it's a keeper. Polly, I am going to try an "experiment" at the quilt group tonight. Currently I am doing the block of the month for the group and need to get something done for tonight's meeting. (I also need to press, layer, quilt and bind the small quilt for the challenge... finished piecing it, by hand, last night. sigh.) Anyway, I acquired some boxes of scraps of fabric, leftovers from a theater group of some sort. I am going to plan a crazy quilt block for the BOM for the group. I will provide some of the fabric, suggest a fabric foundation and see what happens. I think it will be a different idea. Let people play a bit. Besides I need the boxes out of my car.
